The Meaning Behind Our Name

A name rooted in the west and shaped by the land.

Ruguru is a Gĩkũyũ word associated with the west or western side — a fitting name for a family agricultural enterprise rooted in Western Kenya.

“Orchards” speaks to cultivation, growth and the land from which our produce comes. Together, they bring place and purpose into one name.

Two Crops at the Heart of Our Farm

What We Grow

Coffee and avocado — two crops, one commitment to thoughtful cultivation.
Pillar 01

Coffee — Grown with patience. Cultivated with purpose.

Coffee is an important part of the growing story of Ruguru Orchards. From our farm in Likuyani, we are building our coffee production around thoughtful cultivation, quality and a long-term commitment to the crop.
